Vocabulary

Here, you will find copies of each vocabulary list for each chapter that we explore throughout the year.  Mathematics vocabulary is important to know so that you are aware of what certain mathematics terms mean and how they are used.  Knowledge of vocabulary terms will help you understand the material and processes better. 

 

Don't forget, within each unit, you will take a short multiple-choice vocabulary quiz that will assess you on your knowledge of a select group of terms from each section.  Each vocabulary quiz is typically 10 questions long so sometimes not all vocabulary terms will be used.  It is your responsibility to find where on this site the specific terms are that you need to know, or study all of them to make certain that you are prepared.

 

Below, you will find links to each of the unit's vocabulary lists.  Students will receive a hard copy of these terms at the start of each chapter.  If your list is lost, misplaced or stolen for any reason, you may reprint one by using the links below.

 

Vocabulary quizzes are often taken a day or two before or after a unit test.  Be sure to check the Calendar frequently for test and quiz dates.
